ClearCut's platform technology is based on an innovative new form factor Magnetic Resonance (MRI) that enables real-time accurate and rapid margin assessment of excised tissue in the operating room.

The company's first product, the ClearCoast™ MRI System provides intraoperative margin assessment of surgically removed breast cancer tumors. By providing accurate, real-time and simple margin analysis to the surgeon in the OR, the system is able to significantly improve surgical outcomes and reduce re-excision rates.

To date over 400 patients have participated in international, multi-center clinical trials, which have shown excellent accuracy compared to the gold standard final histopathology and the potential to reduce the re-excision rates in breast conserving surgery by 80%.

Future applications include other surgical excisions of cancerous tumors and biopsies throughout the body.
